Revision Cards - Psychopathology January 17th

Learning Objectives:

To summarise key ideas from key topics in order to create a revision tool you can adapt and use for the Psychopathogy paper.

Outcomes of today's lesson:
a) You will have tested yourself on your own cards from last week and then explained your own cards to the other group.
b) You will, as a class, have completed a succinct set of revision cards on Psychological explanations and Biological Therapies.

Success Criteria:

  • Your explanations have to be brief enough to fit on the cards
  • Detailed enough to address key ideas, key words and key studies covering AO1, A02 + A03.
  • You might go on to use these to plan an outline to a past paper question.
Homework:

Create your own flash cards on Psychological Therapies for Sz - you can do this using the website cardmaker (put your own name on the title) or card based.

In 2 weeks (31st Jan) I will assign a random essay on one of the topics.

So...here are your first sets of revision cards:

Creating Flashcards

In pairs you are to develop sets of flash cards. However, by doing this online...they can't be lost and can be amended by any of us in the group.

The website is:

http://www.proprofs.com/flashcards/

The username we will share for psychology cards is:
mrbeechpsych
password: redruth

You will see I have created one side of the cards. In your pairs, as directed, you are to add the detail to the reverse side.

Drugs and Virus

Sorry girls, this post had found its way to year 12 who must have been even more confused!

In your presentations you will have come across individuals describing drug abuse and its possible links to Schizophrenia.

What are the possible connections with drug abuse and Sz? Read the linked article below:

Studies also suggest that exposure to virus in the 2nd trimester or other complications during  pregnancy can be a precursor to Sz.
